I believe in the UNIX way of creating solutions to IT challenges. Using UNIX systems I’ve created a lot of different infrastructures, tools and applications for specific purposes.

Specialties: UNIX: Solaris, Linux and AIX. Creating tools using various scripts and programming languages. Debugging hard problems. Working with organisations to get value out of their IT solutions.

Experience highlights

• Running .mmrc since 2002, working across Solaris, Linux and AIX environments for organisations from large enterprises to government agencies.
• Long-term engagements with organisations including ASML, Ahold/EDS, the Dutch Tax Authority (Belastingdienst) and Stichting Rinis — covering infrastructure consolidation, automated deployment pipelines and system security.
• Comfortable across the full stack: LPAR/LDOM virtualisation and kickstart/puppet/cfengine automation, through to scripting and application code in C, Perl, Ruby, Python and shell.
